Raheleh Abolghasemi

My name is Raheleh Abolghasemi. I was born in May 1983. I am a clinical psychologist with a PhD in Psychology and have more than 20 years of professional experience in psychology, counseling, and psychotherapy.

Throughout these years in Iran, I have worked with various organizations and institutions, including the Prisons Organization, Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center, Assaluyeh Petrochemical Complex, neuroscience and psychological centers, psychology clinics, schools, and kindergartens.

I have been living in Belgium since September 2024 and continue my professional activities here. Living and working in multicultural environments has given me a close understanding of the psychological and emotional challenges of living abroad, being away from one’s home country, migration, and adapting to new and difficult life circumstances. Alongside my professional work, I currently collaborate with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in the field of mental health.

My areas of work include children, adolescents, adults, and families. In my work with adults, I provide individual counseling and work with psychological disorders and life challenges, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive difficulties, panic, phobias, grief, trauma, and emotional and relationship difficulties.

In the field of child and adolescent psychology, I have experience working with behavioral and emotional difficulties, educational and parenting-related issues, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, developmental and adjustment issues, psychological and intelligence assessments, as well as parent counseling and education.

In the therapeutic process, the treatment approach is selected according to each individual’s circumstances and needs.
